Palm Spings Air Museum

Yesterday we took the boys to the Palm Springs Air Museum. They have many hangars filled with restored war planes. Darrell is a history buff and could have stayed there all day talking to the volunteers about their stories. The airplanes really are amazing and most of them still fly. By the way...it was 109 degrees outside.

Happy Anniversary

Can you believe Darrell and I have been married 17 years?? Many of you were at our wedding...one of the best days of my life!! I have been blessed with a husband that I love and adore with my whole heart, two of the best kids in the World, supportive family members, and cherished friends. The people in my life have truly filled me with joy and laughter. I could not ask for anything else.
Last night we went to the Cliffhouse Restaurant in La Quinta for dinner. It is one of my favorite restaurants...the food was delicious. I had Scampi and Filet Mignon...see photo.
Happy Anniversary Love. You are the best husband. Thanks for putting up with me for all these years! You're the bomb!!! I LOVE YOU!!

Golf and Rest

After a relaxing morning and a long swim in the pool, the boys golfed this afternoon. According to Darrell, "Kyle hit a 'birdie' on the hardest rated hole and Nathan was 'smoking' the ball." It was 102 degrees, they had a blast. Nathan was ready to go out again.

On another note, I cannot believe the beautiful flowers out here. How can they possibly live in this intense heat??

My Mom and Larry are getting along fine with the puppy. She spent much of last night trying to chew her way out of her gate, but was happy when Larry woke up this morning. Good luck tonight.

Golf in the Desert

A long weekend in Palm Springs started today. We left this morning and went to Darrell's parents for lunch. Betty makes the BEST tacos...Kyle ate 6 of them. Now, we are at the Marriott Shadow Ridge...it is beautiful, but hot. I mean cooking hot. Really really hot and humid. We're having fun. Darrell took the boys to the pool this afternoon and I went to "The Super WalMart." I wish we had a "The Super WalMart." Then, tonight we went to pizza at our favorite pizza place out here. Tomorrow the boys are going golfing. Nate can only go out after 3:00, so hopefully they don't spontaneously combust on the course!!

Family Outing...to a Rock Concert!!

I know most people go to Disneyland or a Regional Park, but we took our children to a Joe Bonamassa concert. Kyle and Darrell go to concerts all the time, but usually Nate and I stay home. Actually, we had a terrific time and his music was unbelieveable! What a God-given talent that musician has. We were at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. If you look at the photos you can see Nathan's earplugs. We don't want our darling to go deaf at the age of 10. Also, look at Kyle...he cannot miss a text message. What would his friends do if he didn't text them back right away?? Would they think he had chopped off his fingers?? Anyway, we had a great time...we were with 3 other great families. Life is good, it is so good.

A Dog Day...Literally

My Mom brought her dogs, Smokey and Maggie, over today and the mobile groomer trimmed them after Molly's appointment. They all looked so cute. Poor Jenn, the groomer, was so hot. Her trailer doesn't have AC, only a fan. Hot wet dogs stink. The first photos are Molly "before" and the last photo is "after."

A Crawly Thing

Around 7:30a.m.~ My dear friend Jill likes to post pictures of buggy crawly critters, so I saw this when I was watering my flowers this morning and had to post it for her!! It was really small, less than an inch long. What could it be? Does it bite? Is it bad that Molly wanted to eat it?
UPDATE 9:40a.m.~ Nathan was in the pool so I was pulling weeds and watering and cleaning the patio and we saw: 2 mice, a dozen orange butterflies, a blue dragonfly, thousands of maggots (I sprayed them, but they're not dying!Totally gross!!), lots of ants, 2 coccoons, all sizes of lizards, some rollie pollies, and a centipede. I think this heat is bringing everything out...Did you know I HATE mice and maggots! I can handle the other stuff...
