Grammy Takes the Kids To the Beach

My Mom (aka Grammy) is the BEST Grammy ever...or the craziest!! She took Nathan, Eldon, and Holly to the beach today. They looked so cute getting ready to go.
All the essentials...hat, boogie boards, sand buckets...jez, how long are you going to be gone?
Good bye cutie pies...don't forget to put on some sunscreen!

HOMERUNS BABY!!

CHECK IT OUT...HOMERUN OVER THE FENCE!!! Kyle's had an All-Star game today and hit 2 homeruns. He is playing on 2 teams right now and has 4 or more games per week...that's a lot of baseball!! They were down by 10 runs today and came back to lose by 14-13...such an awesome game. All of the boys gave 100% and it was REALLY HOT.
Larry (one of Kyle's biggest fans) and my cousin Matthew came to watch.
The post-game pep talk...these boys should be proud of the outstanding game that they played today.
Our boy...our baseball boy...

Basketball Camp

Nathan and his friend Blake went to Basketball Camp this week. They had a blast and were completely worn out at the end of each day! Nathan is usually 100% baseball, but he is a great basketball player. It was a great first week of summer!!

Summer School and Summer Baseball for KYLE

This is the trunk of a car of a VERY BUSY boy!! Kyle is re-taking Geometry this summer. He started yesterday. He is also on the All-Star baseball team for our League and playing High School summer baseball.
Here is his schedule:
5:30- Wake up
6:20- Carpool arrives for summer school. We didn't want him to drive as he would have to take the freeway during rush hour traffic.
7:15- Geometry class Begins.
1:30- Geometry class Ends. 6+ hours of Math...sounds like torture to me!
3:30- Arrival for Warm-Up before Game
5:00- Game Time.
8:00ish- Home from game. Shower, Dinner, Homework.
11:00ish- Bed to start all over again!

He has to maintain this schedule for only 3 weeks, then Summer School is over. Baseball continues through July. He has most of August off. Holy Cow, was it this busy when we were in High School??

Happy Graduation Paul

Paul was in my Pre-School class 14 years ago!! His Mom and I hit it off immediately and have kept a close friendship. His brother Andrew was also in my class, and his little brother Joshua is our GodChild!! I am so proud that Paul his grown up to be such a terrific person. We had fun at his party with all of the high school graduates! We had to sit at the grown-up table. I honored to have been a part of Paul's life.

Hailey Graduated!!

Nathan wasn't born when we moved onto our old street with the Newbry family. We're blessed that they've been a part of our lives for 11+ years...they're more like family than friends. Hailey and her sister Kenzie are like the big sisters our boys never had.
Are they cute, or what?? Jerry's Wood-Fired Dogs catered Hailey's Graduation Party. It was so yummy.
Hailey and her beautiful Grandma from Idaho. Many of their relatives came out for her graduation, I'm sure Idaho is missing them.
Darrell and Doug...uh, don't ask.
Oh, here they are...aren't they funny??
Here's Kelly. Um, I think she liked the dogs! Her birthday is on Friday. I think she is going to be 39ish.
Happpy Graduation Hailey-kins! We love you and know all of your dreams will come true. Thanks for inviting us to your fun party!
By the way, can you do my hair??
Okay, we're off to another Graduation party.

No More Pencils!!

NO MORE BOOKS . . . NO MORE TEACHERS DIRTY LOOKS!!! Nathan's teachers. Lisa Reardon, on the left, is a dear friend. Her son, Zachary, and Kyle went to Kinder-Sixth grade together. Teresa O'Connell is on the right. They are both AWESOME teachers and both got their lay-off notices...something is wrong with this system...really wrong!! Thanks Mrs. Reardon and Mrs. O'Connell for challenging my baby everyday.
Last day picnic in the park. Nathan is the only one wearing yellow.
My "thinking" boy. I tell you, this boy thinks way beyond his years. Love him so much.
I cannot believe that I now have a Junior in High School and a 5th grader!! I am getting so old...but I have great kids!!! WELCOME SUMMER!

Last Day...

These are all of my kids and one of my aides at one site. Notice how many more girls than boys...LOVE these kids.
A few of my kidlets at my other site. SO very cute and smart and sweet...
One of "my Mommy's" and "my kids." When I started back to work 4 years ago, this little princess was a baby and her brother was not born. I have watched this family grow...
Another terrific Mommy with her little girl.
My newest baby Omar, and his big brother and Mommy.
When this little girl first came into my class the only English word she knew was "pizza." Now, she is having conversations in English and Spanish...amazing!
These families have blessed me on a daily basis. They have accepted me into their lives and trust what I say to them. I only hope and pray that I have made a small impact on their future.
By the way, there is a SLIGHT chance that our program will resume next year...but we won't know until mid to end of summer.

The Movie "UP"

Nathan, Blake, Blake's Mom and Sister, and I went to see the movie "UP." I loved it!! The more I think about it...the more I like it. Go see it...it has a great message of loyalty and friendship. I want to see it again...go today...you won't be sorry!
