HOMERUN BABY!!!
Yesterday Kyle (shown here with his friend Kyle) hit his first-ever-in-a-game-homerun as a High School player!!! Last year he was SO CLOSE so many times...and now he did it!! We were so proud and I was screaming my fool head off. He has trained and practiced very hard and he deserves all of the recognitions and high fives he was getting. The huge bummer, Larry missed it!! He has been to every stinking game nearly Kyle's entire life, and he was working and missed the game. The other huge bummer...Darrell took a phone call at the minute Kyle was on deck and also missed it. The AWESOME part...my Mom and I saw it.
Okay, now off to Nathan's game...Hope you're having a Happy Sunday!

Brian's Waffle Iron
Darrell's childhood friend, Brian (aka BJ) gave us this waffle iron when Kyle was a baby. It is 16 years old and I have used it on a regular basis for all of those 16 years. One time, we spent a New Year's Eve at his house and he made waffles the next morning. Brian loves waffles and had many waffle irons in his closet, so he gave us this one and it's been making waffles for my kids...and husband...ever since. Each time I get it out, I think of BJ. Maybe he can come over for waffles sometime soon!!

Hard-Boiled Eggs
Did you know that if you add a little vinegar (any kind...I used white wine) to the water when boiling eggs, they will peel easier?? I just learned that trick from Martha Stewart and it works!! Linda Trenz...remember trying to peel those eggs at Christmas a couple of years ago. I think it took you and I an hour to peel 12 eggs!!

How's Kyle Feeling??
Grammy and Grampy came over for dinner last night as my kids and I all have Cabin Fever. We haven't really been out of the house in 2 weeks, except for Drs. appointments. Kyle doesn't have a fever anymore, but still has headaches, sore throat, fatigue, and body aches. Hopefully, he'll be able to return to school tomorrow. He has really difficult classes, and it's hard to catch up when he is absent. The Tamiflu did seem to work to lessen the duration and severity of the flu.

Trick-or-Treat??
Nathan ended up going trick-or-treating. He had been fever-free for 3 days, so we let him go with Eldon and Holly. They have gone in my Mom's neighborhood for years together. My Mom and Larry are very active on their Homeowner's Association board, so the kids totally score on the candy...like they need it!
